Went in to the unemployment office, as online registration requires a visit in person.
Had to fill out a half-page form and attach a copy of my resume and that was about all.
The lady working the front desk was quick, polite, and knowledgable. I was pleasantly surprised.
I hate this unemployment stuff. I need to find some kind of money making plan that does not interfere with my current job.

Dirty laundry (a.k.a. morning meeting)
Got to work about 7:30am for a 8am meeting. Made coffee, turned on the air conditioning, did some web surfing, clocked in at 8am sharp. The other guys show up around 8:05, boss offers to go get McDonalds for us (bonus!), so we call in the order, he goes to get it, gets back about 8:30am, meeting starts. (I won't get into the fact that the order from McDs was wrong, at least we got most of what we paid for if not what we ordered)
I have my list of issues from the week, and start going thru them. No one else is prepared at all so I get to drive the meeting. I bring up an issue, the boss tells us where we went wrong, the other guys lie and say they did it right and the customer was wrong. Standard fare.
Sometimes I think the sales guys don't realize that I can actually hear them when they talk to the customers. Not really worth the fight when they deny it, we go over the correct ways to do things anyway.

Partial Unemployment
Sales have been really slow lately, without the normal uptick in service to offset, so I have had my hours "reduced" at work.
The boss strongly hinted that if I hang around when I was not working I might get more hours or "other incentives" (I hope he is talking about pizza, otherwise.... eeeeew!).
I get to play on the gaming machines that are setup to demo to the customers, and I have built a good "refurbished" machine to eventually sell that I will be using for a bit when I want to hide in the back room.
I got to work today at 8:30am, to setup for the 9am opening, but can't clock in until 9. Basically I hit the on-buttons on 20 or so machines then sit here to type this up.
Registering for unemployment took me about 45 minutes online, with the mandatory resume creation taking another 45 minutes. I got that done last week, but still need to show up at the office for the required face-to-face meeting.
I hope the economy picks up soon. This sucks.
